Planting and Growing Arabidopsis
1. Autoclave 2.5 L of soil for each 10 x 20 inch flat, add to clean (bleached) flat with holes sitting in flat without holes. 2. Sprinkle seed on surface at ~1 seed per 9 cm2 3. Water with 2 L of water from bottom and spray surface until wet, cover in saran wrap. 4. Move to 4°C for at least 2 d. 5. Move to light conditions. 6. Monitor seedling growth for 1 week, if present, slit saran wrap in multiple places, remove when soil is dry. 7. Water from the bottom with 0.1x peeters supplemented with calcium nitrate. Use enough water to soak soil without residual water remaining in bottom flat. Allow soil to dry completely before watering again. 1L PEETERS + Calcium Nitrate (20x) 20 g PEETER's 13.12 g Ca(NO3)2 heat on stirrer to 50°C to get into solution, shake well before adding to water.
Soil Amenities: During summer, add Marathon to soil surface and water once every three weeks with 1x Daconil to retard fungal and algal growth. 1x microbutanil can be used as a foliar spray.
